Indian 2 Box Office Verdict: Kamal Haasan’s Film, “Hit Or Flop”?

As a sequel to the legendary 1996 vigilante movie “Indian,” it came with high expectations. Unfortunately, the film received mostly negative reviews. Now that the film has completed its first week in theaters, it’s time to determine whether the film is a box office success or failure.

As per Sacnilk, Kamal Haasan’s film, Indian 2 registered a bumper opening worth ₹ 25.6 Cr. However, despite this strong start, the film’s box office performance declined over the following days. Rather than experiencing growth over the weekend, it saw a decrease, earning ₹ 18.2 crore on Saturday and ₹ 15.35 crore on Sunday.

The downward trend continued into the weekdays, with the movie struggling on Monday, bringing in only ₹ 3 crore. This pattern persisted, with the film making ₹ 3 crore on Tuesday, ₹ 3.3 crore on Wednesday, and dropping to ₹ 2 crore on Thursday. Indian 2 currently stands at a domestic box office total of approx. ₹ 70.45 Cr.

Indian 2 Hit Or Flop?

Made on an estimated budget of around ₹250 crores, Kamal Haasan’s “Indian 2” has yet to cross the ₹100 crore mark at the box office. The film had high expectations, but its performance during the first week was “disappointing”. Despite a strong opening, “Indian 2” faced consistent declines in its box office numbers. Lacking potential for growth, the film remains far from recouping its production costs. Given these factors, “Indian 2” can be regarded as a box office “failure”.
