Versatile actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is known for his unique roles in movies and is appreciated for his acting. However, there was a time when the actor found himself engulfed in controversy and was accused by actress Niharika Singh of allegedly having affairs with multiple women.
Niharika and Nawaz were in a relationship, but the duo parted ways due to differences. For those unfamiliar with the situation, Nawazuddin Siddiqui revealed in his biography titled “An Ordinary Life: A Memoir” that he was in a romantic relationship with Niharika Singh, even without her permission.
However, this did not sit well with Niharika, and she wrote an article about her journey in the industry, where she encountered various people. Her piece was shared by journalist Sandhya Menon. Niharika asserted that she is writing this piece to understand “what constitutes abuse, who we choose to punish, and whom we are willing to forgive.”
Speaking about Nawaz, she wrote that the actor is a sexually regressive toxic Indian man. Her post reads, “Nawaz had engaged with multiple women, giving each one a different story; one of them even called me from his phone and started yelling at me. I also found out about a woman he had married in Haldwani, whose family sued him for making dowry demands. I told him to clean up his mess, be honest with himself, and everyone around him.”
She further revealed that one morning she invited the Manto actor to her home for breakfast, and he grabbed her. “I tried to push him away, but he wouldn’t let go. After some coercion, I finally gave in. I wasn’t sure what to make of this relationship. He told me it was his dream to have a Miss India or an actress wife, just like Paresh Rawal and Manoj Bajpayee. I found his little confession funny but endearing…He often complained about how he was judged based on his looks, skin color, and that he wasn’t fluent in English. I tried to help him deal with his insecurities, but he was stuck in a state of victimization.”
During the #MeToo movement, several actors in India were named after former Miss India Tanushree Dutta accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of inappropriate behavior on the sets of the 2008 film “Horn OK Please.”
